W.I.P - Farmer "Ole McDonald" Exploration

hola people!

here's a lil something i've been working on. it's the farmer from the old childhood song "old McDonald". i've been doing exploration studies of the character using the silhouette technique, working inside out. as you can see i'm still working on them but had to show you what i was up to. anywhoo, thank you for sticking in there with me. again, any critiques would be very much appreciated. until next time...

Coraline Panel at the Gallery Nucleus

Hola everyone!

it's been a more than a week since the event..but thought it'd be fun to show some pictures of the panel of Coraline, which was awesome to go to. most of the visual development team was there sharing their art that they contributed to the movie. also i found on the character designer steve lambey's blog, was the whole panel discussion on youtube! so check out the goodness if you're into this kinda stuff. anywhoo, i'm working hard to get some stuff on the blog..sorry for those who been waiting.

so for the past couple o days i've been painting on photoshop. i love photoshop but i hardly paint on the darn thing. and as it be, i wanted to paint. you see, i look up at my two friends, bobby and ivan's work alot. these two young cats are very talented at what they do and it inspires me to paint as good as they do. sooooo, here's my work in progress, it'll be done in the next couple o days. any comments and critiques is greatly appreciated.

so i'm cleaning my hard drive and desktop and i found this and thought it'd be cool to share. it's the bus stop sign that i used in my demo reel for graduation. i really like doing prop design. my friend ivan suggested i should do more of it. i'll have more stuff in my portfolio that i can show. anywhoo here it is

so my friends bobby, ivan and yours truly are doing a challenge over at out team blog "everwonder." we're doing up the characters in the world of the batman as we
see it in our noggins. i chose to do robin the boy wonder, the Penguin, and the joker. all did in my brown sketchbook again heh!

demo reel car explorations

hola people!!

so it's sunday and it's two days after graduation. i'm still trying to believe that it's all over. no more school...i'm going to miss it, i know it. went to my friend (who also graduated with me) ivan's grad party. it was really really cool, good food, good company and good music provided by ivan and his band "the raga". thank you ivan! anywhoo, here's a couple of explorations of my (if you will) "main character" of my demo reel. i'll be working a lot to update my portfolio so be sure to come back to see some spanking brand new stuff. now it's time to conquer the world.

so these little dudes here are my little paper cutout toys that i will be handing out at my school's portfolio show. i got the template online and just threw my design onto it. turned out pretty good for my first time. my girl is the one making all of them for me, so shout out to my girl!! but yeah this is the first batch done..back to work

card board art

hello everyone!

so my demo reel show is tomorrow and that's when i find out if i pass. nervous times my friends :) anywhoo i wanted to share some art that i did on card board. i've always like drawing on them since i was a wee lad. but yeah i did this one in one of my classes last term. it's basically what keeps me going and what i like. so i drew my family and some of my interest. i've also made a new business card so i'll share that with soon.

finally an update!!

well hello there amigo and amigas!!

first off, like many artist bloggers out there would say, i'd like to apologizing for the lack of post of me poor blogs. rest assure i will post new art for you soon. i am graduating in about a month, so my schedule has been jam packed with demo reel and i must say a little of laziness.

anywhoo, just like to share a photo booth picture i took with my twin brother, sister and brother-in-law at my cousins wedding at the beautiful aquarium of the pacific in my hometown Long Beach, Ca. the photo booth was a great idea to do and will have some great memories for my cousin and his new bride. congrats mark!! but yeah i'll be posting some stuff from my demo reel soon.
